Printing Techniques We Offer
We offer several different printing techniques. These include but are not limited to what you see below.
Thermography
Thermography is a process where the image is printed flat on the page, and then a resin is applied to the ink and subjected to high heat. The resulting image feels like it is engraved. It is often called raised printing. This is an inexpensive alternative to engraving.
Letterpress
Letterpress is the opposite of engraving. A metal plate is engraved, with the image raised off the plate. The ink is then pressed below the surface of the paper. The result is a 3 dimensional image, with an old world feel.
Digital Printing
Digital Printing is a relatively inexpensive printing technique. It is produced by using a digital process, much like a color copier. Smooth papers only can be used in this printing process.
Die Cutting
Die Cutting is the process where different shapes can be cut. A plate is produced which has razor sharp blades. The blades cut the paper in any shape desired.
Foil Stamping
Foil Stamping is a technique similar to letterpress where we apply metallic foils to the paper. It is typically very shiny. Foil Stamping requires a plate, just like letterpress, but the foil is applied flat on the surface of the paper.
Flat Printing
Flat printing is where the image is printed flat on the page. The image has no feel to it. The ink is flat on the surface of the paper.
